Skin Tag Removal in Westhoughton

Skin Tag removal treatments are performed in my Licensed Advanced Electrolysis Clinic in Westhoughton, specialising in the Gold standard of Lesion Removal.

Skin tags are completely harmless, benign, non-cancerous overgrowths of cells that are often caused by friction or hormones. They are commonly found on the neck, eyes, armpits, and groin area. They can have varying appearances from skin-coloured to dark, flat or with a distinct neck, and can range from tiny to giant—my largest removal to date is over 25mm.

These treatments are performed via Electrolysis (Electrocautery). Treatment can take just seconds with minimal discomfort, with a sensation like a hot pin prick. A safe current is applied to the lesion using a hair-like probe, instantly desiccating the skin lesion in this Advanced Cosmetic Procedure. A small scab will form and once healed there is usually no trace.

It can be tempting to try over-the-counter home kits, but professional care is essential for your safety:

I can normally treat multiple lesions in 15 minutes. If you have a larger number of skin tags and we need more time, I will simply add this on and charge the difference. An additional 15 minutes is just £20 in the same appointment.

There is no need to stress about booking the wrong slot—I thoroughly assess your skin at the start of your visit to ensure we look after everything perfectly.

Expect the area will look worse before it looks better. It may be red and itchy whilst healing like any wound.

You will have a small scab this must be treated with care to prevent infection. Scab will usually be gone within 7-10 days. 

You must keep the area dry and clean post treatment, no gym, makeup or product for 24 hours, aftercare will be supplied.

You must not fly for 48 hours post treatment. No swimming/hot tub/sauna whilst scabs are present. 

Most clients tolerate treatment, if you would like to numb purchase EMLA numbing cream form the chemist and follow the instructions including doing a patch test prior. Then 1 hour before your appointment apply thickly to clean skin and cover with cling film or an occlusive dressing/plaster. 

Painkiller: you may take paracetamol if safe, Do not take anti-inflammatories this will impede healing.

NEVER numb skin before vein treatments or illumiFacials.

If anything changes before your treatment e.g skin changes, infection, medications including antibiotics or Cold sore on the face for face treatment you must inform me 3 days before your appointment.
